Drew Morgan
Drew's passion for using fly rods to chase warm water species, especially bass, began when fishing the creeks and rivers of South Alabama as a kid. Growing up he was always playing and fishing in creeks...and now does the same in the East/Central region of Alabama.
When he moved to Auburn, Alabama for school, he began to discover the incredible bass fisheries in the piedmont regions of Alabama. After college he started teaching high school and conveniently had summer vacation to spend fishing the region. After years of fishing, East Alabama Fly Fishing was born out of a desire to help others learn to fly fish for bass, as well as network with other anglers who enjoy using fly rods.
Drew's guiding expertise includes the Tallapoosa River and it's tributaries out of a drift boat. His favorite species to fish for is the venerable Redeye Bass.

David Horkey

David grew up here in East Alabama, learned to fly fish here on warm water species, and has spent a life time floating the local waters here. From chasing trout around the country to permit in Belize, bass were his first love and continue to be what drives him as an angler and a guide. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned pro David loves sharing his experience and passion for fly fishing.
John Agricola
John Agricola grew up fly fishing for bream and bass on Lake Guntersville. After trying some saltwater species he really started to hone his craft. He spent three years on trout streams such as the North Platte River and Laramie River. These skills have inflected his pursuit of the “golden ghost” on the Coosa River chain. whether you are going out on Lake Weiss, or Neely Henry, he can find you carp. He is an excellent teacher having worked for several years teaching in schools and in fishing clinics.
Rowell Guevarra
Rowell discovered fly fishing through Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing in Auburn. He is retired from the Army after 21 years of service. He now considers fly fishing to be more than just a hobby. It is part of his family and friends way of life. He believes that being on the river and in tune with nature heals what ails us in modern society. Rowell is a board member of the OARS Foundation, an assistant program lead for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, and established Alabama's first Mayfly Project, which uses fly fishing to helps foster children. In 2021, he was nominated and a finalist for Alabama Fly Angler of the Year
Dave Weakley
Dave grew up exploring the creeks of southeast Alabama. This is where his love of fishing first took root. Once he discovered fly fishing, a passion turned into an obsession. After a fishing trip to Alaska, he developed a love of wild native fish. Since then he has dedicated much of his time to exporting the back country streams of Alabama searching out native warm water species. His favorite fish to target is the redeye bass.
Christopher "Murph" Murphy
Murph was introduced to fly fishing through Fly Fishing for Vets in 2006 and hasn't looked back since. Murph has been able to participate and take on leadership roles with Project Healing Waters, The Mayfly Project, The Oars Foundation, and Healing Towers. Over the past 17 years Murph has fished in 8 different states chasing a variety of species. In 2022 he was the only Veteran chosen by Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing to represent the organization to attend Sweet Water Guide School for both his love of the sport and dedication to promoting and teaching others. While he resides in Georgia with his wife and son he is happy to tell you how much he loves the Tallapoosa and that he chooses to drive over closer to fish in an area and species he holds close to his heart.
Kyle Albert
Kyle has been fishing the Tallapoosa and other rivers in the South since he was a kid. His love of the outdoors and for fishing rivers drives his desire to help others do the same.
Jake Vincent
Jake grew up in rural northwest Illinois, where his father instilled in him a lifelong love for fishing, both with conventional tackle and fly fishing. The summers of his youth were filled with wading the Driftless region’s creeks on the northwestern Illinois/Wisconsin border for smallmouth bass and pike. He studied fisheries biology at Western Illinois University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology. Jake is an Army veteran and became much more involved in the fly-fishing community after joining Project Healing Waters, where he now teaches fly tying. He relocated to Alabama in 2019 and instantly fell in love with the region’s biodiversity. He enjoys completing the redeye slam multiple times a year. In 2022, he was nominated and recognized as the Alabama Fly Angler of the Year. Jake is the lead mentor for the Auburn, AL Mayfly Project and also a board member and guide for the OARS Foundation.
